AM Trading UK has been appointed exclusive official UK partner for all Emami coated board products, as it targets expanding the options for UK packaging converters.

AM Trading UK secured the deal with Emami Paper India earlier this year.

Emami currently produces 350,000 tonnes of fibre-based products, 200,000 tonnes of which is packaging boards. However, the group, which operates several mills in Eastern India, is looking to expand its capacity as it targets growth in new sectors and geographies, including the UK.

“It is a very exciting opportunity for AM Trading to act as the UK agent for Emami Paper, our relationship has grown stronger with the mill over the past few years and we are certain this will continue to grow with the support from them and our customers,” said AM Trading managing director Ankit Monga.

According to Monga, Emami products are sustainably and ethically sourced and its mills are ISO9001, ISO14001, and ISO18001 accredited with a range of products FDA certified for food contact.

“These products have [already] been used at some of the UK’s biggest printers and we are excited for the opportunity to grow this further in the UK,” he added.

Monga: very exciting opportunity

As the part of its plan to significantly expand the market for Emami products, AM Trading UK is in the process of setting up its own UK warehousing operation to hold substantial stock of popular grades and reduce delivery lead times.

Business development manager Peter Featherstone said: “We recognise a two-to-three month lead time cannot work for some businesses and smaller volumes, so our intention is to adapt and support their needs by having managed stock levels ready for call-offs to mirror competitor offerings.

“The warehouse will also give us the opportunity to work on other projects and provide a central hub for our other side of the business which is exporting stocklots and damaged material to India.”

According to Featherstone, AM Trading UK, which has offices in the UK, India and the US, has constantly evolved its market offering and has grown every year since it was launched in 2008.

He added that with the addition of the full range Emami board grades to its portfolio it is looking to surpass its 2022 worldwide sales of 50,000 tonnes.

Further details on the Emami range of packaging boards and all other materials available from AM Trading can be found at www.amtradinguk.com or speak the merchanting group's sales team call 01753 371744.
